The German-Russian Forum and the Russkij Mir Foundation are organising the competition in cooperation with the German Russian Youth Exchange, the Goethe Institute Russia, the German Federation for Russian Language Teachers, the Professional Association for Russian and Multilingualism and the Russian House for Science and Culture.

The German-Russian Forum organises dialogue and meetings between German and Russian citizens and also youth exchange programmes in both countries. Prominent projects include the ‘Young Leadership Programme’ and ‘Internships for Journalists’ as well as this competition. The Association was founded in 1993 and counts political, economic, media and culture personalities from both countries among its members.

The Russkij Mir Fund was established in 2007 by President Putin and is responsible for maintaining Russian language and culture and for promoting Russia. The Russian Centre of International Scientific and Cultural Cooperation (Roszarubezhcenter) is affiliated with the Foreign Ministry, and receives financial backing to achieve its aims of promoting the teaching and learning of Russian language.

The German-Russian Youth Exchange was founded in February 2006 as a public-private partnership. The Federal Ministry for Families, Senior Citizens, Women and Youths for the Sovereign Hanseatic City of Hamburg, The Robert Bosch Foundation and the Committee on Eastern European Economic Relations are members of the association which is based in Hamburg. The aim of the association is to further German-Russian youth and student cooperation and to promote new initiatives in this area. The main task is to offer financial support to school exchange and language support programmes, extra-curricular exchanges and professional exchanges. The aim of the German Federation for Russian Language Teachers is to spread and promote Russian language and culture and democratic communication. The DRLV works toward strengthening and establishing Russian in schools and acts as a contact for any specialist questions for all Russian teachers and students. The DRLV was founded in 1962 as a non-profit, independent and non partisan professional association. It is a member of the international umbrella organisation MAPRJAL which encompasses all national teachers’ federations.

The Professional Association for Russian and Multilingualism was founded in 2008. It is a member of the General Association for Modern Languages, the umbrella organisation for the German foreign language associations. The Professional Association for Russian and Multilingualism has set as its goal promoting the learning of the Russian language in educational institutions in Germany and contributing to the development of multilingualism and interculturality. This aim is to be achieved by offering advanced and further training for Russian teachers, developing teaching materials and promoting extra-curricular activities to support those learning Russian. The association advises on education policy decisions and cooperates with the international association of Russian teachers (MAPRJAL).

The Goethe Institute Russia is the culture institute for the Federal Republic of Germany in the Russian Federation and partner in German-Russian cultural dialogue. It promotes the learning of German in Russian schools and universities and offers its own language courses. The Goethe Institute also organises and arranges advanced training programmes for German learners through a country wide network of trainers and advisors. It organises cultural exchanges between Germany and Russia and assists in arranging exchange programmes for schoolchildren, students, young artist and culture experts. The institute’s national network of reading rooms, language learning centres, resource centres and contact points illustrates a young dynamic Germany and contemporary culture.

The Russian House for Science and Culture is a foreign representation for the federal agency of affairs to the citizens of the Commonwealth of Independent States living abroad and for international humanitarian cooperation (ROSSOTRUDNITSHESTVO). The function of the RHWK is to establish development of multi faceted Russian-German relations in the areas of culture, economics, and technology and to continue commercial cooperation between Russia and Germany. They regularly arrange bilateral Russian-German and International conferences, specialist seminars and round table discussions concerning current issues relating to international policies and relations between Russia and Germany.
